Portfolio
Welcome to my portfolio! Here, I have assembled a selection of writing and editing work that I completed throughout my time at UCSB. I carefully chose pieces from my internship assignments and coursework that illustrate my three main professional interests: editing, literary publicity, and law. Enjoy!
Editing
These are samples of editing work I completed as an Editing Intern for UCSB’s Starting Lines journal. The team’s supervisor, Prof. Christopher Dean, asked that we edit with a light hand, correcting mostly strict grammar and punctuation errors so as to preserve each author’s original voice. Our round one assignments focused on these line edits, while our round two work centered on checking facts and citations.

Round 2:
This is a list of pieces I drafted for my literary publicity internships with Norton Professional Books and Holly Watson PR. I have permission to use these as writing samples. My supervisors edited each draft before sending the pieces to their intended press recipients; these are the original drafts that contain only my writing.

What’s Next Press Release Draft - Holly Watson PR

Note: I had very specific instructions when writing the What’s Next press release. My boss, Holly Watson, told me to include far more information than would ultimately be necessary, so that she could select and use only the strongest content. For this reason, there is an intentional excess of detail in this draft.

Legal Writing
I wrote the following legal writing samples for my WRIT 107L class with Prof. Gina Genova. I include these pieces because they represent my experience in a writing genre directly related to my law school goals. I completed each of these assignments with a partner, Rya Bonavia. We collaborated on content and writing, but I took on most of the final editing work.
